Anne Hathaway has shared a heartwarming story about a personal moment with Taylor Swift, revealing she once received a surprise handwritten note from the pop star during the Eras Tour.

Speaking on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, the 43-year-old actress opened up about attending Swift’s record-breaking Eras Tour in Germany, describing the experience as one of the most memorable “Swiftie” moments of her life.

Hathaway said she and her family traveled to the show while she was in the country filming her upcoming film Mother Mary, in which she plays a global pop icon. Despite being miles away from the venue earlier in the day, she made the journey to see Swift perform live.

Recalling the atmosphere, Hathaway said the stadium erupted the moment Swift took the stage, adding that the singer has a unique ability to make every fan feel personally seen and appreciated.

At one point, Hathaway thought Swift was waving directly at her from the stage. Moments later, she was tapped on the shoulder and handed a note delivered on the singer’s behalf.

“Taylor wants you to have this,” the message reportedly said, adding, “I’m so happy you’re here. I’m going to be enthusiastically waving at you.”

The unexpected gesture left Hathaway visibly emotional, as she described the moment as “magical” and joked about feeling “special” after realizing Swift had acknowledged her presence.

Hathaway also noted that Swift’s artistry influenced her preparation for Mother Mary, where she portrays a long-reigning pop star navigating fame and identity in the music industry.

The actress’s film is currently in cinemas, while Swift continues to dominate headlines following the global success of her Eras Tour.
