Nick Knowles’ wife Katie has courageously disclosed that she endured years of sexual abuse by her father in a heartfelt video on Instagram.

Katie, 35, who tied the knot with presenter Nick last year, had never publicly addressed the abuse before.

In a courageous revelation, Katie Dadzie shared about her past relationship with her father, who died when she was 18.

In the video posted for her followers, Katie expressed: “I have never spoken about this in public, only to friends and family, and not all of them even.”

“For many years, my dad raped me repeatedly.”

“Sometimes memories resurface, but I’ve had extensive therapy to get to a point where I’m as settled as I can be, and 'can be' is the key term.”

“If you know, are, or love a woman, we should all be concerned when we look at the news.

“It's not every man, but the fact remains that men are predominantly responsible for domestic violence and sexual offenses.”

“In my case, a man was the perpetrator. Often in cases of sexual abuse, it’s someone familiar, like a family member or partner.”

“Being a woman in today’s world can be daunting. I find myself clutching my keys tightly as I walk from the gym to my car.”

“I’m dressed in a sports bra and shorts not requesting attention or assault; it’s just more comfortable for gym workouts. Yet, I feel aware of whether anyone is observing me.”

“At the gym, men were making rude comments and lingering around me. We shouldn’t feel this way anymore.”

Nick is a father to four, from three different relationships — a daughter and son with his former wife Gillian and another son with dancer Paula Beckett.

Katie and Nick celebrated their marriage at an extravagant event at Braxted Park in Essex last year.
