Ryan Reynolds breaks silence on Blake Lively’s ongoing legal fight
Blake Lively continues to face a narrowed but ongoing legal battle
Ryan Reynolds is voicing unwavering support for his wife, Blake Lively, as her high-profile legal battle with Justin Baldoni continues to unfold.
In a recent appearance on Today’s Sunday Sitdown, Reynolds, 49, said he has “never been more proud” of Lively, praising what he described as her “level of integrity” during a challenging period for their family.
“Really, without getting into too much, I have never in my life been more proud of my wife,” he said. “People have no idea what is really going on.”
The legal dispute stems from the pair’s work on It Ends with Us, where Lively, 38, filed a lawsuit in December 2024, accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and alleging a retaliatory smear campaign aimed at damaging her reputation. Baldoni has denied the claims.
In response, Baldoni filed a $400 million countersuit against Lively and Reynolds, citing defamation and breach of contract. That case was dismissed in June 2025.
The legal proceedings have since narrowed. Earlier this month, U.S. District Judge Lewis J. Liman dismissed 10 of Lively’s 13 claims, including those related to sexual harassment.
However, allegations tied to a retaliatory smear campaign are set to move forward when the case heads to trial on May 18 in New York.
Despite the ongoing legal strain, Reynolds suggested that the experience has underscored the contrast between public perception and private reality.
“You really see the illusion behind so much of this stuff — digital life versus real life,” he said.
Lively and Reynolds, who share four children together, have continued to present a united front in recent months, making public appearances and sharing supportive messages about one another.
According to sources close to the situation, the legal battle has been emotionally demanding for Lively, though she remains focused on seeing the case through. Both Blake and Baldoni are expected to testify when the trial begins next month.
