Meghan Markle has shared a series of intimate family moments following her return to California after a highly successful tour of Australia.

The Duchess of Sussex, who recently returned to her Montecito residence, was greeted with a celebratory surprise from her children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

Taking to Instagram on Sunday, the Duchess published footage showcasing the "welcome" decorations the young royals had crafted to mark their parents' homecoming.

In addition to the homemade tributes, the Duchess offered a glimpse into the gifts she had brought back for Princess Lilibet from abroad.

The social media update also served as a retrospective of her time in Australia, with Markle expressing her gratitude for the hospitality shown during the visit.

"Australia, you have our hearts," she captioned the post, while encouraging royal admirers to view a more extensive collection of photographs on the couple's official website, sussex.com. The visit has been widely regarded as a triumph, reinforcing the couple’s international profile.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex famously stepped back from their senior roles within the Royal Family in 2020, citing a desire for independence and a life away from the intense scrutiny of the United Kingdom.

Since relocating to Montecito, they have focused on philanthropic endeavours through their Archewell Foundation and various media projects.

While their relationship with the wider Royal Family remains a subject of intense public discussion, the couple appears firmly settled in their American life, prioritising their young family and their independent charitable mission.
