Demi Lovato credits fan nostalgia for reconnecting with Selena Gomez, Joe Jonas

Demi Lovato says the wave of Disney Channel nostalgia sweeping through fans is helping former child stars reconnect, including her recent reunions with Selena Gomez and Joe Jonas.

In a new interview with Billboard, Lovato reflected on revisiting her Disney roots, including performing the iconic Camp Rock anthem “This Is Me” with Joe Jonas during a recent concert in Orlando. 

According to Lovato, audiences who grew up during Disney Channel’s peak years are now in their 30s and eager to relive the pop culture moments that shaped their childhood.

She explained that fans’ affection for throwback entertainment has made it easier for former Disney stars to come back together publicly and personally. 

Lovato said the nostalgia surrounding the Disney era — which included stars like Selena Gomez, the Jonas Brothers, and Miley Cyrus — has played a major role in rekindling old friendships.

Her comments come as conversations around Disney Channel’s golden generation continue to trend online, fueled by reunions, revivals and debates over which stars defined the network’s biggest era.

That discussion recently intensified after Raven-Symoné shared her personal “Mount Rushmore” of Disney icons, naming herself, Hilary Duff, Shia LaBeouf and late actor Lee Thompson Young.

As fan demand for nostalgic reunions keeps growing, Lovato’s remarks suggest the Disney family bond may be finding a second life years after the cameras stopped rolling.
