Nikki Glaser admits ‘embarrassment’ over viral Leonardo DiCaprio gift revelation

Nikki Glaser is rethinking a lighthearted story that quickly spiraled into headlines. 

Days after sharing that Leonardo DiCaprio sent her a pasta gift following her joke about him at the Golden Globe Awards, Glaser admits the attention has left her feeling uneasy.

Speaking to E! News, the 41-year-old said she didn’t anticipate the anecdote would gain such traction. 

“Honestly, the amount of press it got, I was a little embarrassed,” she said, adding that she worries DiCaprio might interpret it as her “bragging” about their interaction.

Glaser first shared the story during an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, explaining that she had sent flowers to celebrities she roasted while hosting this year’s ceremony. 

According to her, DiCaprio, who is currently in a relationship with model Vittoria Ceretti, was the only one who responded, sending three baskets of pasta as a playful callback to her joke.

During the show, Glaser detailed the origins of the bit, noting she intentionally avoided the actor’s well-worn dating jokes. 

Instead, she referenced a 1991 teen magazine interview in which DiCaprio reportedly listed pasta as his favorite food. 

The unexpected response, she said, was both “so funny” and memorable, though she now jokes she may have shared too much.

“I was just trying to come up with a funny story,” Glaser said of her late-night appearance. “I only have a few.”

Ahead of hosting the Globes, Glaser had made clear she wanted to steer away from predictable material about the Oscar-winning actor, known for films such as The Revenant and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. 

In earlier interviews, she emphasized her goal to “challenge” herself by finding fresh angles rather than relying on familiar punchlines.
