‘The Forsytes’ Season 2: PBS Masterpiece releases first teaser
'The Forsytes' received a renewal for a third season in March
Following the Season 1 finale on Sunday, Masterpiece PBS offers an exciting glimpse at the upcoming Season 2 of The Forsytes.
The new season is slated to premiere next year on Masterpiece on PBS, featuring the talents of Richard Rankin (Outlander, Rebus), Sarah Alexander (Pennyworth, Jonathan Creek), and Nia Ashi (Bob Marley: One Love).
They join BAFTA-winner Francesca Annis (Lillie), portraying the formidable matriarch Ann, alongside Danny Griffin as Jo Forsyte, Tuppence Middleton as Frances Forsyte, Eleanor Tomlinson as Louisa Byrne, Joshua Orpin as Soames Forsyte, Millie Gibson as Irene Forsyte, Francesca Annis as Ann Forsyte, Stephen Moyer as Jolyon Forsyte Sr., and Jack Davenport as James Forsyte.
Adapted from John Galsworthy’s novel, The Forsyte Saga, The Forsytes is an expansive tale of an affluent British family in 1880s London.
According to the official description: Desire, ambition, and betrayal are central to The Forsytes, capturing the lives, loves, struggles, and victories of a wealthy Victorian-era stockbroking family, whose generations grapple with tradition, self-sacrifice, personal happiness, and the pursuit of love.
The Forsytes received a renewal for a third season in March, even before the first season premiered.
The series is brought to life by Mammoth Screen. Debbie Horsfield (Poldark) penned the adaptation.
Executive producers include Horsfield, Meenu Gaur, Michael Ray, and Damien Timmer for Mammoth Screen, part of ITV Studios. Susanne Simpson serves as an executive producer for Masterpiece.
