Emma Stone and Chris Pine team up for new rom-com 'The Catch'
A new rom-com pairing sets sights on a 2027 theatrical debut
Emma Stone and Chris Pine are officially teaming up for a new romantic comedy, The Catch, which has now secured a theatrical release date.
The upcoming film, described as a two-hander rom-com, will be directed by Dave McCary.
While plot details remain under wraps, the project is already generating buzz with its high-profile cast and creative team.
According to Deadline, Pine was initially in early talks to join the film before officially signing on alongside Stone.
The project gained momentum after a revised script originally penned by Patrick Kang and Michael Levin, with later drafts by Jen Statsky and Travis Helwig caught Stone’s attention.
Once both leads were confirmed, the film quickly moved forward, with production expected to begin later this year.
The Catch will be produced by Shawn Levy and Dan Levine, with Robin Fisichella serving as executive producer.
The film is slated to hit theaters on May 21, 2027, positioning it as a major upcoming entry in the romantic comedy genre.
