King Charles and Queen Camilla have shared a personal note following their trip away from the United States.
The royals wrapped up a four-day official visit to America, which ended on Thursday.
The King has now set off to Bermuda for some solo events, while Queen Camilla has gone back to the UK.
In a message on social media, King Charles and Queen Camilla stated: “Goodbye and thank you for the wonderful welcome and the generous support you gave us during our first trip to the US as King and Queen, in this special milestone year for you.
“We leave a part of our hearts and carry a piece of yours back with us. Until next time… Blessings to America.
“Charles R. & Camilla R.”
President Donald Trump personally bid farewell to King Charles and Queen Camilla in Washington on Thursday, announcing the removal of tariffs on Scottish whisky — a move he credited to the couple's influence.
Mark Kent, head of the Scotch Whisky Association, mentioned that "distillers can now breathe a sigh of relief" after the news.
The key trade achievement is anticipated to justify Downing Street's choice to send the monarch on what many saw as a bold diplomatic effort to improve the UK-US bond.
The monarch's plane, the UK Government's VIP Airbus, touched down at LF Wade International Airport in Bermuda as night approached on Thursday, displaying the Royal Standard and Bermuda's flag from the cockpit.
Governor Andrew Murdoch and Premier David Burt, accompanied by his spouse Kristin, greeted Charles on the runway, where the Royal Bermuda Regiment lined up to honour him.
The ceremony was consciously kept low-key, with the grandeur including a 21-gun salute saved for Friday’s official welcome.
As the King remarked to accompanying journalists "you've arrived" before heading to his car, the focus now shifts to today's full agenda.
King Charles will head to Trunk Island to explore the "Living Classroom," a project aimed at educating youth about local ecosystems and promoting environmental stewardship.
In the capital, Hamilton, there will be a reception at City Hall, where the Premier and Mayor will introduce local officials to the monarch.
A unique event will have King Charles meet Michael Frith, the Bermuda-born artist known for creating numerous Muppets, alongside his wife Kathryn Mullen, who will showcase their renowned puppetry and discuss its influences from Bermuda.
The King's cultural journey continues at the Royal Naval Dockyard, where he will tour the Keep Yard and watch the National Gombey Dance Troupe perform with local spectators.
The day's activities will come to an end with a garden gathering at Government House, bringing together individuals representing a wide range of Bermudian society.
