- Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise have reconnected following the deaths of the Reiners.
- The former couple is reportedly having positive conversations for the sake of their children.
- Shared grief has allowed both actors to move past years of public estrangement.
Former Hollywood power couple Nicole Kidman and Tom Cruise are reportedly reuniting after years of estrangement, following the tragic deaths of their long-time friends, Rob and Michele Reiner.
Insiders revealed on Friday that the shared grief over the Reiners has acted as a "gut check" for the pair, prompting them to reconnect and support one another.
An insider told Radar Online that "Tom met Nicole around the same time Rob and Michele became a couple, and their relationships followed a similar arc," leading the duo to reminisce about their early years together.
The tragedy has reportedly softened the stance of both actors, who have not spoken since their eleven-year marriage ended in 2001.
"They've had some really positive conversations recently, which has everyone hoping this could actually move forward," the source disclosed, adding that Kidman is particularly motivated by their adopted children, Bella and Connor.
"Nicole knows her kids are really looking forward to having their parents in the same room again, so she's determined to follow through," the insider noted, confirming that "enough time has passed that they've both been able to let it go."
Currently, both stars are navigating personal transitions, as Kidman recently filed for divorce from Keith Urban and Cruise ended his relationship with Ana de Armas last summer.
While this reconciliation marks a "huge" step for the former spouses, they are said to be at a place where they are finally "ready to break bread together."
This unexpected reunion signals a significant shift for the icons as they find solace in their shared history.
