Mass shooting near Oklahoma City lake leaves ten injured

At least 10 people were wounded in a shooting during a large gathering near Arcadia Lake, just north of Oklahoma City, prompting a massive overnight police response, officials said. 

The gunfire erupted around 9pm Sunday at what authorities described as a youth party near the popular recreational site in Edmond, Oklahoma.

According to Edmond Police spokesperson Emily Ward, officers rushed to the scene after receiving multiple reports of shots fired. 

Emergency crews transported at least 10 victims to nearby hospitals, while several others reportedly sought treatment on their own, raising concerns that the number of injured could climb further. Victims were said to be in varying conditions.

Police have not made any arrests so far, and investigators are continuing interviews with victims and witnesses across the metro area. 

Authorities said there is currently no indication of an ongoing threat to the public, though the motive behind the violence remains unclear.

A family reunification center was established at a nearby Walmart as anxious relatives searched for information.

Arcadia Lake, located about 13 miles from downtown Oklahoma City, is a popular destination for boating, fishing, camping and picnics. 

The normally crowded leisure spot turned into a scene of panic as ambulances and law enforcement swarmed the area late into the night. Officials said the investigation remains active.
