Olivia Rodrigo is celebrating a career milestone
Olivia Rodrigo is celebrating a career milestone after making her highly anticipated hosting debut on Saturday Night Live, calling the experience the “best night” of her life.
The Grammy-winning pop star hosted and performed as the musical guest on the May 2 episode of the long-running comedy series, marking her first time leading the show after previous appearances solely as a performer.
Following the broadcast, Rodrigo shared her excitement on Instagram, posting a photo outside her dressing room and writing, “Saturday night Liv!!!! Best night of my life!!!! Such a dream come true!!!”
She thanked the show’s cast and crew, as well as creator Lorne Michaels, for making the evening unforgettable.
Rodrigo also said she felt lucky to share the milestone with Debbie Harry, actor Connor Storrie and indie singer Weyes Blood.
During the show, Harry introduced Rodrigo’s first performance of drop dead, the lead single from her upcoming third studio album, while Storrie later introduced a second new track, Begged.
Rodrigo also leaned into comedy throughout the night, spoofing her breakout 2021 hit Drivers License and taking a playful jab at former co-star Jake Paul.
The successful double-duty appearance marked another major step for Rodrigo, who has steadily expanded from chart-topping musician into one of pop culture’s most visible young stars.
