Dave Franco and Sophie Wilde star in alien thriller 'Soon You Will Be Gone and Possibly Eaten'
Egor Abramenko is set to direct this project from a screenplay by Luke Piotrowski and Ben Collins
Known for Now You See Me and Together, actor Dave Franco will star alongside Talk To Me and Babygirl actress Sophie Wilde in the alien invasion thriller, Soon You Will Be Gone And Possibly Eaten.
According to the reports, Egor Abramenko, who directed A24’s upcoming horror film Altar and Russian sci-fi Sputnik, is set to direct this project from a screenplay by Luke Piotrowski and Ben Collins, known for Hulu’s Hellraiser and Anton’s The Night House.
This screenplay is adapted from a short story by Nick Antosca, who is the creator-showrunner of the forthcoming Apple TV series Cape Fear, featuring Javier Bardem and Amy Adams. Filming is anticipated to start this summer.
The movie was developed by Anonymous Content, Eat the Cat, and Divide/Conquer, with production credits going to Anonymous Content, Dawn Olmstead, Anton, Eat the Cat, and Divide/Conquer.
Anton is entirely funding the film and managing global rights, with plans to continue pre-sales in Cannes. For domestic sales, Anton, Anonymous Content, and WME Independent are in charge.
The storyline centers on “Rob and Sabile, a young couple about to get married, who retreat to a private mountain resort to celebrate their union and embark on their new life together.
However, their wedding planned with loved ones takes an unexpected twist when uninvited visitors interrupt the festivities”. Additional casting is currently underway.
The film is produced by Sébastien Raybaud (Greenland 2) for Anton, Nick Antosca and Alex Hedlund for Eat the Cat (Murdaugh: A Death in the Family), Greg Gilreath and Adam Hendricks for Divide/Conquer (M3GAN), Nick Shumaker for Anonymous Content, and Dawn Olmstead. Executive producers include Anonymous Content’s David Levine (Nickel Boys) and Garrett Kemble, along with Anton’s Kathy Stocker.
