Charli XCX is once more caught up in a conflict with another famous female singer, this time stirring up memories of her past disagreements with Taylor Swift about Matty Healy.

The artist finds herself amid controversy again, as followers are certain that tensions are quietly escalating.

Fans were swift to observe that Sky Ferreira has stopped following Charli XCX on Instagram, escalating rumors of a new disagreement.

This recent clash has created a frenzy on social media, with enthusiasts poring over each post and comment for potential hints.

The conjecture arose after Sky Ferreira hinted that her old demos played a larger role on Wuthering Heights than reflected in the album credits last month.

Nonetheless, a notice from Charli’s representatives clarified that a “minimal number of tracks” on the album use “snippets from previous sessions,” and assured that all use was “mutually agreed in writing” and officially sanctioned before its launch.

Sky has secured a fresh recording contract following her departure from Capitol in 2024.

She disclosed on social channels that her agreement with Capitol “kept [her] from pursuing anything, even non-music work, for more than a decade.”

This unfolds after Charli earlier became a topic in news concerning Taylor Swift and Matty Healy.

Charli used to be close with Taylor, especially as she was Taylor’s opening performer during the “Reputation” world tour.

Prior to the pop star and Travis Kelce formally announcing their relationship in September 2023, Taylor was linked romantically to The 1975 leader Matt Healy.

Simultaneously, Charli was seeing the band’s drummer, George Daniel, whom she married in July 2025.

Charli maintains a close bond with Matty Healy, describing him as her “brother.”

But there were reports of friction because of his close connection with Charli.

In 2024, Charli introduced her album Brat, which contains a track that many fans feel expresses her anxieties and feelings of inadequacy while navigating her social world, mentioning a “girl [who] intensifies my insecurities,” thought to perhaps refer to Taylor by many.

Many fans believe that “Actually Romantic” from “The Life of a Showgirl” answers Charli, recounting a story of a broken connection between two composers.

Despite fan speculation, Charli has previously clarified there's “no animosity” between herself and Taylor, stressing her lyrics discuss the challenges faced by female artists.
