Princess Eugenie is awaiting the arrival of her third child with her spouse Jack Brooksbank, which her cousin, Zara Tindall, reportedly suggested she reveal to her uncle, King Charles, according to a recent article.

According to The Mail on Sunday, the offspring of Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Sarah Ferguson seemed "nervous" about how the Royal Family might take the pregnancy news, especially given her parents' losing the York titles and her father's arrest on charges of public office misconduct on February 19, 2026.

The report stated, "the Palace agreed to issue an official announcement only after Eugenie's cousin Zara Tindall, who was one of the select few informed, persuaded her to communicate with the King."

Zara and Eugenie have a strong friendship and are often seen together at events like Royal Ascot, Cheltenham Festival, and private gatherings, including a Christmas party organized by Zara at Ixchel restaurant in Chelsea in December 2024.

The article elaborated on how Eugenie supposedly conveyed the news via an Easter card paired with a letter to her uncle. It's not publicly known how or if she shared the news with her parents.

The couple reportedly experienced a "warm response" from the Palace upon receiving the news.

The formal public announcement was released by Buckingham Palace on May 4: "Her Royal Highness Princess Eugenie and Mr. Jack Brooksbank are thrilled to announce they are expecting their third child together, expected this summer," it stated.

"August, who is five, and Ernest, who is two, are thrilled to welcome another sibling into the family.

"His Majesty The King has been informed and is thrilled by the news."

The mother-of-two also shared the news on Instagram, posting a picture of her two sons viewing a scan of their future sibling, captioned: "Expecting Baby Brooksbank in 2026!" with a series of heart and baby emoticons.

Baby Brooksbank will be in the 15th spot in the line of succession, pushing Prince Edward into the 16th position.

Even with their royal standing, the child won’t have an HRH status or the title of prince or princess.
