King Charles III and Queen Camilla hosted a star-studded gala at the Royal Albert Hall to celebrate the 50th anniversary of The King's Trust, a momentous milestone for the royal charity.

The Royal Family's official Instagram account shared a dazzling look inside the milestone celebration for The King's Trust's 50th anniversary. The post features a video montage of the King and Queen arriving on the red carpet at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall and mingling with a host of A-list guests.

Hollywood royalty George and Amal Clooney were spotted chatting with the monarch, alongside music legends Sir Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood. The gala, hosted by TV personalities Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly, marked a half-century of the charity King Charles founded in 1976.

Originally known as The Prince's Trust, the organisation was established using the King's £7,600 severance pay from the Royal Navy. In its five decades, The King's Trust has helped over a million disadvantaged young people find their footing.

George Clooney's cameo sparks debate among royal watchers

While the gala celebrated The King's Trust, the official Instagram post's caption focused on the "remarkable achievements" of the young people supported by the charity. Many royal followers and charity ambassadors shared congratulations in the comments.

"A privilege to be an ambassador for over 17 years and seeing first hand the incredible work of the trust," wrote one supporter. Another added, "His Majesty looks fantastic! Good to see he and Her Majesty enjoying themselves."

However, the appearance of some celebrity guests, particularly George Clooney, sparked a debate among commenters. "Wot the hell is clooney there for," one user bluntly asked, while another remarked, "GC ruined that one moment."

Despite this brief stir online, the 50th-anniversary gala was overwhelmingly portrayed as a momentous occasion, honouring the King's five decades of dedication to improving the lives of young people.
