Sebastian Stan confirmed as Harvey Dent in 'The Batman: Part II'
The star joins Robert Pattinson and promises an ambitious sequel from Matt Reeves
After months of swirling rumours, the former Marvel star is officially joining the dark world of DC. Stan confirmed to Deadline that he will portray the iconic district attorney, joining Robert Pattinson, who reprises his role as the Caped Crusader in the Matt Reeves-directed film.
The actor admitted that taking on such an iconic character in director Matt Reeves' universe is a significant undertaking. "I feel like it's a really ambitious movie," Stan explained, hinting at a complex narrative.
He promised fans an unexpected film, revealing, "I think if we do it all right... I really think it’s going to blow people away."
The character of Harvey Dent is a cornerstone of Batman's mythology: a principled district attorney who tragically transforms into the villainous Two-Face.
This casting sets up a huge and dark character arc for Stan, who is globally recognised for his role as Bucky Barnes, the Winter Soldier. His jump from the Marvel to the DC universe has sent fans into a frenzy.
Key returning cast members include Andy Serkis as Alfred Pennyworth and Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner James Gordon. Stan also shared his deep admiration for director Matt Reeves, a major factor in joining.
"I’m so excited about Matt Reeves... he’s been one of my favourites for a long, long time," he said. Filming is slated for June 2026, with a release on October 1, 2027.
