Selena Gomez may be a musical sensation topping the charts, a prominent actor, and a leading name in the celebrity beauty business, but maintaining a healthy diet isn't her forte. Despite her shining public persona, the 33-year-old remains surprisingly relatable with her daily diet choices.

According to the Daily Mail, during a private podcast session in West Hollywood, Benny Blanco reportedly discussed his wife’s interesting food pairings and her breakfast preferences. This episode is scheduled to air in September.

Selena Gomez’s dietary choices

In discussing Selena Gomez's culinary habits with Goop's creator, Blanco humorously noted that the singer “has a diet befitting a child.” He explained that Gomez delights in all things unhealthy, revealing burgers and fries as her comfort-food favourites, while she also starts the day with quick-service breakfast options. He also mentioned, “This morning I walked in and she was enjoying Jack in the Box at 6:45 in the morning.”

Benny divulged that the only slightly healthier meal he can persuade Selena to try comes from Goop Kitchen, Gwyneth Paltrow’s health-focused food outlet, known for an array of dishes from soups and salads to pizzas and pasta. He mentioned that the restaurant serves his favourite pizza as well.

However, admitting that the Rare creator isn't too keen on fruits or vegetables, Blanco joked that she picks off all the toppings from Goop's Chinese chicken salad, leaving him with the greens to finish.

Nonetheless, this is hardly news about Selena Gomez. The pop star and actress has been known for her lack of cooking expertise and her indulgent eating style. As reported by the Daily Mail, Gomez was once admitted to the hospital due to malnutrition, reportedly linked to her junk-food-heavy diet.

She has previously confessed that one of her main problems is failing to eat properly, expressing her fondness for sweets such as M&M's, Kit Kat, Snickers, and Goobers. In a 2016 discussion with Bon Appetit, Selena also revealed she stocked her tour bus with Hot Cheetos, chocolate, and pickles, and confessed her enjoyment of fried chicken.

Why isn't fast food ideal?

As noted by Medical News Today, fast food is typically high in calories, lacking the nutritional value of whole, unprocessed foods. It often contains excess sugars, salt, unhealthy fats, highly processed ingredients, and preservatives, while missing essential nutrients like fibre, vitamins, and minerals.

Experts caution that frequent fast food consumption may raise the chances of obesity, heart disease, type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and liver issues. It can also contribute to bodily inflammation and intensify cravings, potentially resulting in overeating and binge-eating patterns.
