Jensen Huang is recognised for various aspects: steering the world’s leading company, his iconic leather jacket, and his affection for street food.

The Nvidia leader was captured on camera consuming noodles on a Beijing street on Friday after being part of President Donald Trump's official visit to China.

"It's marvellous," Huang informed the curious onlookers while enjoying the fried bean sauce noodles.

A clip of this occasion shared on X had garnered over a million views by early Friday.

Huang joined a group of business executives — including Elon Musk, Tim Cook, and Larry Fink — who accompanied Trump for discussions with China's leader, Xi Jinping, this week.

Huang was a late addition to the team, joining when Air Force One made an unexpected stop in Alaska to collect the Nvidia CEO on Wednesday.

Huang is familiar with diplomatic engagements in China: Nvidia has been subject to US limitations on the sale of its cutting-edge AI chips to China for nearly four years.

He's also familiar with tasting street food during his work-related adventures.

Huang has been seen relishing dishes from local markets in cities including Taipei, Taiwan, and Hanoi, Vietnam over the years.

As Nvidia's stock value has escalated — currently sitting at $5.7 trillion — so has Huang's public persona. This burgeoning fame attracts bigger crowds to see him dine, evidenced by the media frenzy over his fried chicken meal with Samsung and Hyundai leaders in South Korea last year.

Huang also enjoys blending business with culinary experiences away from the public eye. In 2024, Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, shared that the Nvidia leader invited him for a cheesesteak cooking session at his home.

Huang's passion for food seems expected. Nvidia’s inception story involves Huang and co-founders Chris Malachowsky and Curtis Priem brainstorming over coffee and pancakes at a Denny's in San Jose, California — a moment the company honoured with Denny's stands at its GTC conference last year.

No announcements concerning AI or semiconductors seemed planned during Trump’s China state visit.

Jamieson Greer, the US trade representative, stated in a Friday chat with Bloomberg that export restrictions on semiconductor chips weren’t prominently addressed with Chinese officials in Beijing.

According to Reuters, citing anonymous informants, reported on Thursday that approximately 10 Chinese enterprises received clearance to acquire Nvidia's H200 chips from the US, though no actual sales have occurred.

Huang has long expressed his keen interest in the Chinese market, describing it as a $50 billion avenue.
