King Charles visits Belfast's W5 LIFE to celebrate digital skills work on his Northern Ireland trip
King's Trust has delivered eight OCN-accredited digital skills programmes for over 100 young people
King Charles has visited W5 LIFE in Belfast as part of his annual trip to Northern Ireland, meeting young people who are developing digital and career skills through the King's Trust's Get Ready initiative.
The visit
The King arrived in Northern Ireland alongside Queen Camilla on Tuesday, with the visit to W5 LIFE forming part of a series of engagements marking the King's Trust's 50th anniversary.
The organisation's official Instagram account shared a joint post with the British Royal Family, featuring photographs of the monarch meeting young participants during the engagement.
"A powerful moment for young people in Northern Ireland," the caption began.
What W5 LIFE offers
The post described the work being done at the Belfast venue, which offers immersive STEM experiences and hands-on digital learning to help young people unlock new opportunities and career paths.
"As part of our 50th anniversary, His Majesty the King visited W5 LIFE in Belfast to meet young people gaining the skills and confidence to shape their futures," the caption continued.
"From immersive STEM experiences to hands‑on digital learning, W5 LIFE is helping unlock new opportunities and exciting career paths for the next generation."
Impact of the programme
Through its partnership with W5 LIFE — part of the Odyssey Trust — the King's Trust has delivered eight OCN-accredited digital skills programmes, supporting more than 100 young people to build confidence, resilience, and practical skills through the Get Ready initiative.
Across Northern Ireland, the organisation's impact continues to grow through an expanding community of schools, employers, and partners committed to helping young people succeed.
The caption concluded: "Moments like this are about more than a visit — they're about celebrating young people, their potential, and the futures they're creating for their communities."
Queen Camilla's separate engagement
Whilst King Charles visited W5 LIFE, Queen Camilla made her own visit to pupils at Fane Street Primary School in South Belfast on the same day.
