Love Island star Jay Younger is preparing to welcome his first child, with his fiancée Amairany now well into her third trimester as the couple count down to the arrival of their baby.
The Scottish reality star, who shot to fame on the 2022 series of the ITV show, got engaged to Amairany in March during a romantic trip to Aspen, Colorado.
Scan visit leaves couple longing for a glimpse
Amairany, a TikTok content creator, documented the couple's visit to a London clinic for an ultrasound scan — though the appointment left her mildly disappointed when the baby's face remained hidden from view.
Medics advised her to go for a walk and drink some water, and she even attempted a few jumps to encourage the baby to shift position, but the umbilical cord stayed in front of the little one's face throughout.
The couple revealed they discovered the pregnancy three and a half months into the gestation, describing the news as an unexpected but joyful surprise.
"The news has been as wild and unexpected as it has been beautiful and amazing. In awe of it all, we're feeling so blessed," Amairany wrote.
From one-night stand to engaged and expecting
Jay, 32, who works as an investment analyst, proposed to Amairany at the famous ski resort three months ago, sharing photographs of the couple alongside a shot of her sparkling engagement ring.
"Turns out Latinas can say yes to Scottish men," he wrote alongside the post.
Fellow Love Island star Luca Bish offered his congratulations, writing: "Congratulations brother," whilst Sheli McCoy — also known as Sabre on BBC's Gladiators — commented: "Omggggggg! Congrats pal!" ITV presenter Andi Peters joked: "It's the Irn-Bru she's after! Congratulations," and Love Islander Danica Taylor added her well wishes.
In a TikTok video, Amairany described the progression of their relationship as "the most natural thing," saying she was "over the moon." The couple went Instagram official in December 2024, though Amairany has since revealed that Jay was originally meant to be a one night stand when she met him during a Euro trip with friends. After their initial encounter, the pair could not stop talking, and days later they were on a date in London.
Jay's Love Island journey
Jay arrived in the Love Island villa as a bombshell during the eighth series of the show, wasting little time in stirring things up by taking three of the girls on dates.
Shortly afterwards, Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu chose to couple up with him — a pairing that caught fans' attention, not least because many later noted Amairany's striking resemblance to Ekin-Su.
The connection was short-lived, however, with Jay subsequently choosing to couple up with Paige Thorne whilst Ekin-Su returned to Davide. He later paired with Danica Taylor before switching to Chyna Mills during Casa Amor.
Jay and Chyna were ultimately dumped from the villa on Day 35 following a public vote. Jay later claimed that producers had exerted too much influence over his coupling decisions during his time on the show.
