Kate Middleton's rare comments on husband William at cancer event spark reaction
Kate Middleton attended a Cancer Research reception alongside King Charles and Queen Camilla at St. James's Palace on Tuesday.
The Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, offered some unique glimpses into her relationship with Prince William during a special Cancer Research event, joined by King Charles.
At 44, Kate attended the 125th-anniversary celebration of the cancer charity at St James's Palace with the King and Queen Camilla on a Tuesday night.
Although Prince William wasn't present, it was clear the Princess was thinking of him as she warmly discussed their strong partnership.
Engaging in conversation with musician Ronan Keating, he mentioned, "Please give my regards to William."
Ronan's wife, Storm Keating, praised, "he's such a gent," to which Ronan added, "Yeah we love him."
The royal mother-of-three, sporting a red dress with heart motifs by Rodarte, brought laughter by saying, "So do I!"
Kate and William are parents to Prince George, 12, Princess Charlotte, 11, and Prince Louis, eight, and have recently celebrated 15 years of marriage.
A heartfelt interaction
The evening carried special meaning for both Kate and Charles, who have been personally touched by the charity’s efforts and have openly shared their encounters with illness.
A touching moment happened when she spoke with Sebastian Bowen, the husband of Dame Deborah James, who passed away from incurable bowel cancer in 2022 at the age of 40.
He told Kate, "I've been thinking about you guys a lot."
Prince William, 43, had closely worked with Dame Deborah, who was a passionate supporter of bowel cancer awareness.
Sebastian appeared thankful to William for having a heartfelt conversation with their two children, prompting the Princess to comment, "He's good like that."
He later shared, "I told her I was incredibly touched that they as a family had been so supportive and thought about them all the time.
"It was deeply touching and moving for me and my family to have had the opportunity to meet them and ongoing support and given to the fund both privately and publicly."
In January 2025, Kate announced she was in remission after revealing her cancer diagnosis in 2024.
Since then, she has gradually resumed her official duties, recently completing a trip abroad to Italy.
The King, at 77, is still undergoing cancer treatment, but in a Stand Up To Cancer video in December 2025, he stated that his treatment is being reduced.
