Katie Thurston reveals ‘no evidence of disease’ in liver amid ongoing treatment
The former 'Bachelorette' star says recent scans show no evidence of disease in her liver
Katie Thurston has shared an encouraging health update in her ongoing battle with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, revealing that recent scans show “no evidence of disease” in her liver.
The 35-year-old former Bachelorette star posted the update on her Boobie Broadcast channel, describing the results as a positive sign in her treatment progress while noting that further testing is still ahead.
“Liver update: no evidence of disease!!” she wrote, adding that she remains cautiously optimistic as she awaits a PET scan scheduled for later this month.
Thurston was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in February 2025, with doctors later confirming that the disease had spread to her liver the following month.
While the latest results indicate a strong response to treatment, she said her medical team continues to monitor other health markers, including elevated enzyme levels, as well as her recovery following a double mastectomy earlier this year.
She noted that she is still awaiting clearer answers about her overall condition, adding that she hopes any remaining traces of disease are either stable or continuing to shrink.
Thurston previously underwent a double mastectomy in April as part of her treatment plan, a decision she said was made to increase her chances of survival.
“I want to do everything I can to increase my chances,” she told People. “I refuse to call it a terminal illness. No one is promised tomorrow.”
Despite moments of progress, Thurston has been open about the emotional toll of her diagnosis, describing it as the most difficult period of her life.
She has shared that while she tries to remain positive, the reality of her condition can be overwhelming at times.
“There are some days I’m fine and some days I’m just like… damn,” she wrote in a previous reflection. “I pick myself up and keep pushing on.”
