Actress and Singer Zoë Kravitz, 37, has spoken candidly about her plans to start a family with Fiancé Harry Styles, saying she needs to be "realistic" about balancing motherhood with her film directing career.
Kravitz made the remarks in an interview with British Vogue, opening up about marriage and parenthood for the first time since her engagement was confirmed in April, when she was spotted wearing a large ring on her left hand. The couple had previously been seen walking arm in arm in Rome, Italy, in August 2025.
Career versus family
Kravitz was measured in her outlook on juggling professional ambitions with personal milestones. "You just kind of have to be realistic. If I want to do something well, I have to focus on it. Knowing myself, I'm not going to have a kid and direct movies at exactly the same time," she told the publication. The Batman star added: "You just have to decide where you want your energy to be."
Kravitz on motherhood: a change in tone
The interview marks a notable shift from remarks Kravitz made in the March 2022 issue of ELLE, in which she said she felt no particular pressure to have children. "We all go from being the baby, where you're like, 'I have so much time.' And then, all of a sudden, your gynaecologist is like, 'Want to freeze your eggs?' And I'm like, 'I hadn't even thought about that,'" she said at the time.
The Big Little Lies actress continued: "But I don't feel pressured to have kids by a certain time, if I ever have kids. This idea of like, you're 30. You're a grown-up. Now you're supposed to have kids and stop having fun, because that's for children — I bought that for a second."
