Ciara and Russell Wilson credit faith and communication for their lasting love
The couple reveals the values behind their decade-long relationship
Russell Wilson and Ciara are opening up about the foundation behind their long-lasting marriage.
The couple, who will celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary this summer, revealed that faith, communication and spending meaningful time together have helped keep their relationship strong.
When asked about the secret to their marriage, Wilson said that faith plays a major role in their bond.
“God is a lot of that. A lot of Jesus, a lot of prayer, a lot of quality time, date nights,” the former NFL quarterback shared.
Ciara, 40, added that communication remains one of the most important parts of their relationship.
“Communication rules the nation,” she said, explaining that they continue working on strengthening those skills together.
The couple shares three children: daughter Sienna, 9, son Win, 5, and daughter Amora, 2. Ciara is also mother to 12-year-old son Future from her previous relationship with rapper Future.
Ciara said one of the things she admires most about Wilson is watching him as a father, calling that role one of his most attractive qualities.
“I always tell him the sexiest thing about him is watching him be a father to our babies,” she said.
She praised Wilson as an incredible dad, saying he is like “Superman” in their household and that their family feels supported by him.
Wilson also reflected on his relationship with his stepson Future, describing fatherhood as one of the greatest gifts he has received.
“One of the things I’ve realised is the biggest gift that I’ve been given is being a stepdad,” he said.
The athlete explained that loving a child who is not biologically his own has been a meaningful experience.
“When you can love somebody that’s biologically not yours, but you love them as if they are, that’s the greatest blessing,” Wilson said.
Wilson added that all four children share a close bond, and he enjoys watching Future take on a leadership role among his siblings.
The proud father also revealed that his children have developed a passion for sports, with each of them exploring different activities.
He shared that Future enjoys baseball and football, Sienna loves sports and can hit a ball far, while Win has taken an interest in boxing.
Earlier this year, Wilson accompanied Future on a visit to the University of Texas Athletics department and praised his talent in multiple sports.
