Bunnie Xo has revealed she and estranged husband Jelly Roll still intend to have a child together — despite filing for divorce after nearly 10 years of marriage — and that a Mother's Day argument was the moment that ended their relationship.

The influencer and podcaster, whose real name is Alisa Andrea Carter, made the emotional disclosures on Thursday during an episode of her Dumb Blonde podcast, as reported by Page Six.

Co-parenting plans despite the split

Bunnie, 46, told listeners that her divorce from country star Jelly Roll would not derail her plans to become a mother. She said Jelly Roll "has been so great about us still having a baby together" and that "he wants the same thing" she does. "We're just going to raise little Nugget as one big happy family," she said. A representative for Jelly Roll did not respond to Page Six's request for comment on Thursday evening.

A gruelling IVF journey

Bunnie shared that the couple had spent the past two years pursuing IVF in their bid to conceive. She described the experience as among the most painful of her life, extending sympathy to others going through the same process.

"In the last two years, when we decided to have a baby, I had to do IVF," she said. "My hat goes off to any woman, family, couple who is going through IVF because, let me tell you something, dude, that is one of the loneliest, darkest journeys you will be on."

She continued: "Yes, everybody gets to see the reward at the end, but it is not all bells and whistles. It is not a beautiful journey. It completely wrecked me."

Four embryos lost across three transfers

Bunnie revealed that both she and Jelly Roll — whom she said had a low sperm count — were on hormones simultaneously, adding to the emotional turbulence. Across three embryo transfers, the former couple lost four embryos in total, including twins they had hoped to carry.

"And anybody that's going through that and has to deal with these miscarriages, it's gut-wrenching," she said. "It is so heartbreaking."

She also spoke of the anger the experience stirred. "You get so mad at God, because you're like, 'Why is it so easy for people who don't deserve children to just be able to just pop them out?'" she recalled thinking, noting that she and Jelly Roll are "two people that really want a baby together."

The Mother's Day argument that ended the marriage

Despite describing the pair as "trauma bonded at this point," Bunnie said the relationship had faced "roadblocks" that "took a toll." She pinpointed a specific moment as the breaking point — a dispute on Mother's Day that led her to issue an ultimatum.

"On Mother's Day, we had a little bit of an argument, which I don't think the details are necessary," she recalled. "And, in that argument, I was so fed up and so tired that I just looked at him and said, 'Well, then file the f–king divorce papers.'"

The divorce filing and relationship timeline

Jelly Roll — whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord — filed for divorce on 18 May in Williamson County, Tennessee. Page Six confirmed the filing earlier this week, with the couple's official separation date recorded as 9 May.

The pair originally married in Las Vegas in 2016, separated in 2018, then reconciled and held a vow renewal ceremony in 2023. During their marriage, Jelly Roll had spoken openly about his admitted infidelity and his journey to sobriety.

Signs the relationship was under strain

Cracks in the marriage had begun to show publicly earlier this year, when fans noted on social media that Jelly Roll had stopped wearing his wedding ring. One week after the separation date, Bunnie appeared to respond to the split by posting a video comparing exes to rubbish bins, captioning it: "Intuition when that s–t don't add up." Jelly Roll, meanwhile, removed a tag referencing Bunnie — along with lock and key emojis — from his Instagram biography.
