Nicky Campbell has shared an emotional update after his daughter was seriously injured in a hit-and-run incident involving an e-bike in south London.

The 65-year-old Long Lost Family presenter revealed on social media that his daughter, Lilla Campbell, 26, was struck in the Peckham area, prompting what he described as a “long and emotional night” in A&E.

According to his post, the rider fled the scene moments after noticing an ambulance and a crowd gathering.

“Hopefully there is CCTV,” Campbell wrote, adding that the suspect “scarpered” once emergency services arrived.

He said his daughter is “badly injured but now at home,” adding that the family felt “incredibly lucky” the outcome was not worse.

Campbell also described further distressing circumstances while his daughter was being treated at King’s College Hospital in Lambeth.

He said a drunken man entered the trauma room where she and her relatives were waiting and exposed himself, an incident that led to police intervention.

He confirmed that the man was arrested at the scene. “The police were magnificent,” he wrote, adding that officers later confirmed the suspect was in custody. Campbell also praised hospital staff, describing them as “bloody superb.”

The broadcaster thanked both emergency responders and hospital workers for their support during what he called an extremely difficult night for his family.

The incident has sparked wider concern on social media, with users raising questions about the regulation and safety of e-bikes in urban areas, alongside messages of support for Campbell and his daughter.

Authorities have not yet released further details about the hit-and-run investigation.
