Adele teases major comeback after secret London studio sessions
Adele is reportedly recording new music in London as comeback rumours grow
Adele reportedly prepared a major music comeback after secretly flying to London to record new material, sparking fresh excitement among fans.
The 38-year-old singer, who previously said she would take a “big break” from music, has been working quietly at Church Studios in North London over the past week, according to The Sun.
Adele is said to have travelled from her Los Angeles home earlier this month and has been in and out of recording sessions while keeping a low profile during her stay.
Industry insiders suggest the sessions could mark the start of a new album era, with speculation growing over possible collaborations after several high-profile artists were spotted at the same studio.
American singer-songwriter Justin Vernon of Bon Iver was seen outside the building, while Gen Z artist Gracie Abrams was also reportedly filming nearby at the same time.
Church Studios, owned by producer Paul Epworth, has a long history with Adele, including work on her Oscar-winning James Bond theme Skyfall and parts of her 2015 album 25.
A source said Adele has been spending “at least a fortnight” in London, adding that she has been working closely at the studio rather than recording in the United States.
“She feels safe at Church Studios and it made sense to come to London for the sessions,” the insider said.
Another music source claimed the move reflects a desire for a more “British-sounding” project, after her previous album 30 was largely created in the US.
“Adele has been living in LA for a decade but her roots in London are very important to her,” the source said. “People close to her believe reconnecting with her hometown will inspire something different.”
Adele, born in Tottenham and raised in South London, has long drawn on UK life in her earlier records, but her most recent album focused heavily on her personal life and divorce.
While excitement is building around her return to the studio, it is understood there are no confirmed details on a release date or project timeline.
Adele previously said after her Las Vegas residency that she planned to take an extended break from music to focus on other creative work.
However, with fresh studio activity now underway in London, anticipation is rising that the global superstar may be preparing her long-awaited return.
