Jack Antonoff, Margaret Qualley face issues before split
Source claims communication issues strain Jack Antonoff's marriage with Margaret Qualley
Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley reportedly experienced ongoing relationship challenges before separating after less than three years of marriage, according to a new report.
A source told Page Six that communication had become a significant issue in the couple's relationship, claiming the Bleachers frontman "could be very particular" about how things were done.
"He'd often prefer for things to be done the way he thought was best, and Margaret didn't always feel like her perspective was being heard or given the same weight," the insider alleged, adding that "communication was definitely a challenge" between the pair.
Representatives for Antonoff and Qualley did not immediately respond to requests for comment, according to the outlet.
News of the reported split emerged on Wednesday, with sources telling both Page Six and People that the couple had been facing difficulties. One source described the relationship as "rocky", while another said the pair are "figuring things out."
Speculation intensified after Antonoff attended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding celebrations on July 2 and July 3 without Qualley. Instead, he was accompanied by his sister, Rachel Antonoff.
Although some fans speculated the actress missed the wedding because of filming commitments, TMZ reported she had completed work on King Snake in June and is not expected to begin filming Possession until later this year.
Fans had also noticed several changes in recent months that fuelled rumours about the couple's relationship. In April, Qualley changed her Instagram username from @isimostar—a reference to Antonoff's song Isimo—to @sarahmargaretqualley23.
Meanwhile, Bleachers reportedly stopped performing Margaret—the song inspired by Qualley—during the band's tour after a June 13 show.
On Wednesday, fans also observed that Qualley had removed most photos featuring Antonoff from her Instagram account, leaving only one image of the pair together. Despite the changes, the two continue to follow each other on the platform.
Antonoff and Qualley married in August 2023 after becoming engaged in 2022. They were last photographed together publicly at the Grammy Awards in February.
