Britney Spears was spotted standing through the sunroof of a moving SUV while travelling on a Los Angeles freeway, just months after resolving her DUI case with a reduced charge.

According to Page Six, the 44-year-old singer was seen standing above a black Mercedes SUV as it drove along the 101 Freeway near Studio City on Thursday. Spears was reportedly travelling from her home in Thousand Oaks when the incident occurred.

Eyewitnesses describe freeway stunt

Photos captured Spears standing through the vehicle's sunroof, throwing her head back and stretching her arms across the roof while traffic moved at around 45 mph.

Witnesses told the Daily Mail that the singer remained above the vehicle for approximately two minutes before the SUV exited the freeway.

After leaving the highway, Spears and her male driver, who was wearing a white cowboy hat, stopped at a gas station. The pair were seen chatting and laughing before Spears went inside the convenience store.

A source told the outlet that Spears briefly stood through the sunroof to check the traffic conditions ahead after vehicles came to a stop.

The source added that the singer enjoyed the warm weather and did not intend to do anything wrong, saying she had often done similar things while growing up.

Outing follows DUI case

The sighting comes several months after Spears was arrested in Ventura County, California, on suspicion of driving under the influence.

She later pleaded guilty to a reduced "wet reckless" charge in May, avoiding jail time.

At the time, sources close to the singer said she was doing well following a period in rehab, describing her as healthy, happy and focused on moving forward while continuing counselling remotely.
