Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo officially end decade-long marriage
The country star and podcast host have legally ended their marriage after quietly filing for divorce in May
Jelly Roll and Bunnie Xo have officially finalised their divorce, bringing an end to their nearly decade-long marriage.
According to People, the country singer, whose real name is Jason DeFord, and the podcaster, born Alisa DeFord, finalised their divorce earlier this month. TMZ first reported the development on Friday, July 17.
While the terms of the settlement remain confidential, court documents obtained by TMZ state that the former couple will divide assets, including their homes, vehicles, an aircraft and intellectual property. Jelly Roll will also make a one-time confidential lump-sum payment to Bunnie, with no ongoing alimony obligations.
Representatives for both stars did not immediately respond to PEOPLE's request for comment.
The divorce follows Jelly Roll's filing on May 18, when he quietly petitioned to end the marriage after nearly 10 years, citing irreconcilable differences. Court documents were later obtained and reviewed by PEOPLE in June.
Days after the filing became public, Jelly Roll addressed the split during a concert in Saratoga Springs, New York, insisting that the breakup did not involve infidelity.
"Me and my wife are best friends, we will always be best friends," he told the audience. "She will probably be the only woman I'll ever love the way I loved her."
He also clarified, "Nobody cheated on nobody."
Before Jelly Roll publicly spoke about the separation, Bunnie discussed the divorce on her Dumb Blonde podcast, revealing at the time that she expected the legal process to be completed within a few weeks.
She also shared that despite ending their marriage, the former couple still hoped to have a baby together in the future. Jelly Roll is already father to daughter Bailee, 18, and son Noah, 9, from previous relationships.
Sources previously told People that the pair "always had a complicated dynamic" and still cared deeply for one another but had grown apart over their visions for the future.
A separate insider recently said the singer remains grateful for their relationship despite moving on.
"The reality is that he will always love her, but that doesn't mean that he wants to stay married," the source said, adding that Jelly Roll now feels "healthy, focused and in control of his future."
The divorce comes on the same day the singer released the emotional music video for his latest song, Hands Up.
