Justin Theroux shares hilarious delivery room outfit story
The actor joked that choosing his delivery room outfit became part of his preparations before his son's birth
Justin Theroux has shared the hilarious reason he ordered custom hospital scrubs before welcoming his first child with wife Nicole Brydon Bloom.
During an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on July 16, the 53-year-old actor recalled preparing for the birth of the couple's baby boy, admitting he was surprisingly focused on one particular detail.
While joking that his wife handled most of the important work, Theroux said he spent time thinking about what he should wear in the delivery room.
“I think I was very helpful in the whole process. My wife was incredibly helpful,” he joked. “She did a fair portion of it.”
The actor explained that he wanted to avoid drawing attention to himself on the big day, so he decided to order personalised hospital scrubs complete with his embroidered name and a matching surgical cap.
“I just wanted to blend in,” Theroux said. “I didn't want to make this about me.”
He added that the outfit was inspired by the medical attire worn by Noah Wyle's character in The Pitt.
Theroux and Bloom welcomed their first child together in April, announcing the arrival with a heartfelt Instagram post featuring a black-and-white photo of the actor cuddling their newborn son.
“He's here. We are so in love,” the couple wrote, choosing not to reveal the baby's name.
The Leftovers star has also spoken openly about embracing fatherhood. During an earlier appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, he described becoming a dad as a “beautiful” experience and said seeing his son for the first time changed him instantly.
Theroux also admitted he already wants to spoil his baby, joking that resisting the urge may prove difficult as he and Bloom navigate parenthood together.
