Cara Delevingne makes candid admission about winning over British fans
The actress revealed she moved to Los Angeles to reinvent herself, saying she needed to escape both her insecurities
Cara Delevingne has poked fun at her relationship with British audiences, joking that she doesn't think people in England like her after tickets for the London stop of her tour proved difficult to sell.
Speaking to The Sunday Times Culture magazine, the 33-year-old model and actress reflected on leaving London for Los Angeles in 2015, saying she has continued returning to England in hopes of reconnecting with the public.
“I don't think English people like me much,” Delevingne joked, before comparing winning over the country to trying to make her parents, Pandora and Charles Delevingne, proud.
The Suicide Squad star admitted she moved to the United States because she wanted a fresh start and the chance to reinvent herself after struggling with self-confidence during her modelling career.
“I wanted to reinvent myself,” she said, explaining that she needed to break free from both her own insecurities and the way others perceived her.
Delevingne also recently returned to the spotlight with a bold Playboy cover shoot, describing the experience as empowering because it allowed her to embrace her body and sexuality on her own terms.
The actress said the shoot felt different from previous fashion work, calling it “liberating” and adding that she enjoyed sharing the photos with her girlfriend, singer Minke, who praised the images.
Despite her confident public image today, Delevingne said she still sees herself as someone balancing different sides of her personality, insisting that embracing both vulnerability and confidence is what feels most authentic.
