Odelya Halevi reveals emotional pregnancy journey with first baby
'The Law & Order' star admitted pregnancy mood swings caught her by surprise
Law & Order star Odelya Halevi has announced she is expecting her first child with husband Aaron Mazor, revealing the couple are preparing to welcome a baby girl later this year.
The 37-year-old actress, best known for playing Assistant District Attorney Samantha Maroun on the NBC legal drama, shared that their daughter is due in December.
Speaking to People, Halevi recalled discovering she was pregnant shortly after filming wrapped on season 25 of Law & Order.
Looking back, she realized her sudden craving for chocolate during production had been an early clue.
"I found out I was pregnant the traditional way," she said, adding that she had been helping herself to the producers' chocolate stash throughout the week before taking a pregnancy test.
Halevi described telling her husband the news as an unforgettable and deeply emotional moment, saying they had both long dreamed of becoming parents.
The actress admitted pregnancy has brought unexpected challenges, particularly intense mood swings during her first trimester.
She recalled becoming overwhelmed after movers accidentally broke a houseplant she had cared for over four years, joking that she needed nearly a week to recover from the incident.
Despite the emotional highs and lows, Halevi said feeling her baby kick for the first time made every challenge worthwhile, calling the experience unlike anything she had ever known.
She also revealed pregnancy has changed her eating habits, with oatmeal once a food she disliked becoming her latest craving as she eagerly counts down the days until meeting her daughter.
