Country singer Morgan Wallen suffered an ankle injury whilst greeting fans at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbour on Friday during his ongoing Still the Problem Tour. The 33-year-old musician twisted his left ankle at a painful angle before falling to the ground, subsequently hobbling away and sitting down in pain out of the crowd's view.
The New York Post reported that the former contestant on The Voice shared footage of the incident on his Instagram Stories, noting that he "popped" his ankle. On Saturday, Wallen posted a message informing fans that he might appear to be hobbled during his performance. However, he had completed his Friday night concert at the stadium without obvious issues.
The ankle incident was not the only disruption during the first of his two scheduled tour stops in Michigan. Video footage captured by a concert-goer showed a fan throwing a mobile phone that appeared to hit Wallen in the leg whilst he was singing, causing the artist to stop waving and glare at the individual.
The Michigan occurrences follow a series of dramatic events involving the singer during his 2026 tour. Last month, Wallen ripped a mobile phone from a security guard's hand and flung it across the stage whilst performing at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh after noticing the guard was recording him.
Additionally, Wallen experienced an on-stage outburst at a concert in Denver last month when his piano malfunctioned during a performance of his song "Sand in My Boots." After completing the song a cappella, he pushed, flipped, and broke the instrument. Wallen is scheduled to finish his 2026 Still the Problem Tour on 1 August in Philadelphia.
