Larry the Cable Guy discharged from hospital after emergency treatment

Larry the Cable Guy is on the mend after being hospitalised with appendicitis, with his representative confirming the comedian has been discharged and is recovering at home.

The 63-year-old comedian and actor, whose real name is Daniel Lawrence Whitney, was rushed to a hospital in Lincoln, Nebraska, on Thursday after his appendix became infected and swollen. Following a two-day stay, he was discharged on Saturday.

His representative told the Daily Mail that the star is "recovering well," adding that he is "in good spirits and feeling much better."

The unexpected health scare reportedly forced Larry to postpone filming for his upcoming syndicated CBS comedy clip series, American Mayhem.

The 52-episode weekly show, set to debut this fall, will feature the comedian's trademark blue-collar humor as he narrates viral clips showcasing everyday mishaps, DIY disasters, pet antics and other lighthearted moments from across the United States.

Speaking about the series previously, Larry said viewers can expect nonstop laughs.

"Situations that go off the rails have always been prime entertainment—as long as it's not you!" he joked, adding that American Mayhem delivers "a laugh a minute" as audiences enjoy the chaos from the comfort of home.

John Stevens, CEO of V10 Entertainment, also praised the collaboration, calling Larry "a comedy force" whose unique perspective brings even more humour to the series.

Best known for voicing Tow Mater in Disney-Pixar's Cars franchise, Larry is expected to resume work once he has fully recovered.
