'Duck Dynasty' star Phil Robertson breathes his last at 79

Phil Robertson, best known for being a reality television star on the popular television series Duck Dynasty, has passed away at the age of 79.

Robertson’s family shared the news through various social media posts on Sunday, May 25.

They also revealed in December that the reality TV star was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease on the episode of the Unashamed with the Robertson Family podcast.

Robertson’s son, Jase Robertson, paid tribute to his father on X, writing, "My dad has gone to be with the Lord today! He will be missed but we know he is in good hands, and our family is good because God is very good! We will see him again!"

His other son, Willie Robertson and his wife Korie Robertson, took to their Instagram handles to express sorrow, they penned, "We celebrate today that our father, husband, and grandfather, Phil Robertson, is now with the Lord."

"Thank you for the love and prayers of so many whose lives have been impacted by his life, they said, adding, "We know so many of you love him and have been impacted by his life. We’re having a private service for now, but we’ll share details soon about a public celebration of his life."

It is worth noting that Duck Dynasty, starring Phil Robertson became a huge hit when it premiered on A&E in 2012 and it ran for 11 seasons.
