The ‘ONE CONDITION’ Nita Ambani set before marrying Mukesh Ambani
You'll be surprised to know that one condition Nita Ambani agreed to marry Mukesh Ambani
Who would have thought a billionaire like Mukesh Ambani faced terms and conditions before marriage?
Despite his vast business empire, Mukesh Ambani had to agree to one non-negotiable condition set by his future wife, Nita Ambani, before she agreed to marry him. At the time, he was the son of Dhirubhai Ambani, then chairman of Reliance Industries.
Before tying the knot with Mukesh Ambani in 1985, Nita Ambani said that she wanted to continue working as a school teacher, as cited by India.com.
According to the outlet, Nita was raised in a modest family and had begun her career at Sunflower Nursery School, earning Rs800 per month.
She was also a Bharatnatyam dancer at that time and had impressed Dhirubhai Ambani with a classical dance performance, and Mukesh's father showed his interest in making her his daughter-in-law.
After knowing all about Ambani's financial status, she was still initially hesitant about marrying into immense wealth.
However, Nita agreed only after Mukesh accepted her wish to continue teaching.
In an interview on Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, she reflected on the joy and fulfillment her teaching role brought her, despite being mocked for it.
Mukesh recalled, “As soon as we married, the next year she was a school teacher… and all that salary was mine. It paid for all our dinners.”
