Police clear Alan Ritchson following physical weekend altercation
Alan Ritchson will not face charges after authorities reviewed several witness statements
Police in Tennessee have officially cleared Alan Ritchson of any wrongdoing following a physical altercation with a neighbour on Sunday.
The incident, which took place during a motorcycle ride in Brentwood, was captured in footage that appeared to show the actor striking another man while two children watched from their own bikes.
After a thorough investigation into the encounter, the Brentwood Police Department determined that the performer acted purely in his own interest to prevent harm.
The case is now considered closed, with no criminal charges being pursued against the individual known for his physically demanding television roles.
"After reviewing available evidence, including video footage and witness statements, authorities determined that no criminal charges will be pursued," Brentwood Police Captain Steven Pepin told EW.
"Mr. Ritchson's actions were found to be in self-defense." Although officers initially considered a potential charge of reckless endangerment regarding the speed of the motorcycles, the investigation concluded without further action.
The other party involved, Ronnie Taylor, admitted to pushing the actor before the situation escalated. Ritchson, who reportedly struck the man after being confronted in the street, ultimately declined to press charges against his neighbour.
"I don't wish the guy any malice or ill will, we just don't need people riding through neighborhoods like this," Taylor told TMZ following the disagreement.
Ritchson, a father of three, is widely recognised for performing his own stunts and often documents his passion for high-powered vehicles on social media.
He is currently preparing for several upcoming film projects, including the highly anticipated action feature War Machine.
