Niall Horan reveals ‘underrated’ One Direction song fans missed
The singer's comments come ahead of his new album Dinner Party
Niall Horan has revisited his One Direction days, revealing which of the group’s tracks he believes never got the recognition they deserved.
During a recent interview with NME, the 32-year-old singer-songwriter shared that “Steal My Girl,” the lead single from the band’s 2014 album Four, remains one of the most underrated songs in their catalogue.
Horan acknowledged the track’s commercial success but insisted it still didn’t receive the level of appreciation he feels it deserved.
“I think it was robbed of its day in the sun,” he said, pointing to its lasting appeal and even highlighting the memorable appearance of Danny DeVito in the music video.
He also named Fool’s Gold, another track from Four, as an overlooked favorite, suggesting that some of the band’s deeper cuts have gained appreciation over time but still remain under-recognized.
The reflections come as Horan prepares to enter a new chapter in his solo career.
His fourth studio album, Dinner Party, is set for release on June 5, marking his latest project following Flicker (2017), Heartbreak Weather (2020) and The Show (2023).
Earlier this year, Horan confirmed the album was complete and teased new music for fans on social media, sharing a clip of himself performing acoustically.
Since launching his solo career, Horan has continued to expand his presence beyond music, including serving as a coach on The Voice alongside Michael Bublé, Reba McEntire and Snoop Dogg.
