Kendra Duggar moves to private residence following jail release
Misdemeanour charges for Kendra Duggar separate from husband’s Florida molestation case
Kendra Duggar has sought refuge at a "very private" residence with her children following her release from an Arkansas detention facility on Friday.
The 27-year-old reality star was booked into the Washington County Detention Center at 4:56pm after being charged with four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment.
She was released on a $1,470 bond just 90 minutes later. In a recorded collect call from her husband, Joseph Duggar, later that evening, Kendra confirmed she had been taken to a secure hideaway, telling him, "They brought me to a good place to stay that's very private."
The charges stem from a search of the couple's Tontitown home on 19 March conducted by the Tontitown Police Department and the Arkansas Department of Human Services.
According to reports, investigators discovered door locks installed on the exterior of bedrooms where children stayed, which authorities are treating as evidence of possible improper detention.
During the phone call, Joseph, who remains in custody, urged his wife not to reveal her specific location. Kendra turns her focus to Joseph as children can be heard playing in the background, asking him if he is "doing okay." Joseph replied that reading the Bible has been "calming" and "uplifting" as he processes the situation.
While Kendra is set to appear in court on 29 April 2026, Joseph faces much more serious legal challenges. He is currently awaiting extradition to Florida on felony charges of lewd and lascivious molestation involving a nine-year-old girl during a 2020 family vacation.
Police have clarified that the misdemeanour charges against Kendra are legally distinct from Joseph's case in Florida.
