Aaron Phypers ordered to pay $160,000 to widower in fraud case

A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has ordered Aaron Phypers to pay $160,000 to Rupert Perry, a California widower who accused the reality star of fraud and breach of contract.

The default judgment was signed on Monday, after Phypers failed to respond to the lawsuit initially filed in November 2024. Perry alleged that Phypers, 53, charged him and his late wife, Elina Katsioula-Beall, $126,000 for stem-cell treatments at his now-defunct Quantum 360 Club in 2023.

According to the filing, Phypers claimed a "98 per cent success rate" and promised to "cure or at least ameliorate" Katsioula-Beall’s sarcoma cancer, offering a 50 per cent refund if the treatment proved ineffective.

The court heard that Katsioula-Beall’s condition deteriorated significantly after the treatments, with her tumours reportedly growing 25 per cent.

Perry made several attempts to secure the promised refund, even placing public notices in the Malibu Times throughout the summer of 2025 to notify Phypers of the legal proceedings.

Despite these efforts, Phypers remained silent in court while embroiled in a contentious divorce from actress Denise Richards.

A representative for Phypers has not yet commented on the judgment, which includes the original refund amount plus interest and additional fees.

Phypers is currently facing separate criminal challenges, including two felony counts of injuring a spouse and two counts of dissuading a witness.

These charges stem from alleged incidents in 2022 and resulted in his arrest during a courtroom hearing in October 2025.

Meanwhile, his civil proceedings with Richards continue, with a judge recently ordering the actress to pay him $5,000 a month in spousal support while the former couple finalises their split.
