Milly Alcock and Jason Momoa are joining forces for an interstellar adventure in Supergirl, the highly anticipated second installment in James Gunn’s new DC Universe.

Alcock, 25, stars as Kara Zor-El, Superman’s cousin, following last year’s Superman movie.

The Warner Bros. trailer, released Tuesday, March 31, shows Kara racing against the clock to save her beloved Krypto the Superdog, who is injured during a battle on another planet.

“When an unexpected and ruthless adversary strikes too close to home, Kara Zor-El, aka Supergirl, reluctantly joins forces with an unlikely companion on an epic, interstellar journey of vengeance and justice,” reads the official synopsis.

The trailer also introduces Jason Momoa, 46, in his first appearance as Lobo, the anti-hero who teams up with Kara after a chance encounter at a bar.

Momoa, who previously portrayed Aquaman in the now-defunct DC Extended Universe, brings a rugged, larger-than-life energy to the role.

The cast is rounded out by Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, and David Krumholtz and Emily Beecham as Kara’s parents. Clark Kent, a.k.a. Superman, played by David Corenswet, makes a brief appearance in the trailer.

Alcock shared her excitement for the project at a December teaser trailer watch party, highlighting the collaborative effort behind the film.

“Literally thousands of people made this project come to life. So I’m really excited for their work to be reflected,” she said.

Following Supergirl, DC Studios plans to continue the new universe with Clayface starring Tom Rhys Harries on Sept. 11, followed by the sequel Man of Tomorrow on July 9, 2027.

Supergirl hits theaters June 26, 2026.
