Two years after a bat bite, Momsen faces another wild encounter during her tour

The Pretty Reckless Taylor Momsen survives spider bite mid-tour in Mexico

Taylor Momsen’s AC/DC tour experiences continue to defy expectation—this time, in the form of a venomous spider bite.

The Pretty Reckless frontwoman, 32, shared the incident with fans on Wednesday, April 8, via an Instagram Reel from Mexico City, where she was on tour with the legendary rock band.

In the clip, Momsen is seen receiving medical attention, including a shot to counteract the spider’s venom.

"When do my superpowers kick in? That’s what I want to know," Momsen quipped to the camera, ending the video with a shot of the bite as the Spider-Man theme song played.

In her caption, she wrote, “[Bat emoji] So it wouldn’t be an AC/DC tour if I didn’t get bit…this time a massive spider decided to take a chunk out of me and its venom did a number on my system so had to have the wonderful doctors in Mexico come and deliver quite the shot before the show last night…add it to the list! Spider woman? Batgirl? [emoji] WTF.”

This marks the second time Momsen has been bitten while on tour with AC/DC. In May 2024, during a performance in Seville, Spain, a bat landed on her leg mid-song. Though she described the bat as “cute,” she required a series of rabies shots following the encounter.

“So… ROCK AND ROLL MOMENT…in Sevilla Wednesday during ‘Witches Burn’ of all songs… a BAT[emoji] flew onto me and clung to my leg…in the moment I was performing and had no idea until the incredible crowd kept screaming and pointing,” she recounted on Instagram. Staff at the hospital even nicknamed her #Batgirl after the incident.

Momsen, who gained fame as a Gossip Girl alum and for her music career, has leaned into the humor and absurdity of her tour mishaps, showing off video clips and photos of both the spider bite and the bat encounter.

Despite the wild encounters, Momsen remained upbeat: “It’s alright, and the bat’s fine. He’s gonna be my new friend,” she told fans from the stage during the 2024 incident.
