Al Roker goes viral moment in live interview with 'Laguna Beach Reunion' star

A live Today show interview took an unexpected turn on Friday when Al Roker stepped in to fix an on-air audio issue caused by a wardrobe accessory.

Lo Bosworth, one of the stars of MTV’s Laguna Beach, was speaking during the segment when her audio began to crackle and distort mid-interview.

Rather than let the moment derail the conversation, veteran host Al Roker quickly identified the problem.

“You know what, Lo?” Roker interjected calmly. “Could you take your necklace and maybe just put it inside your dress? Because it’s rubbing against your microphone.”

Caught off guard, Bosworth reacted with surprise, asking, “Guys, on live television?” before quickly adjusting her necklace.

The fix worked immediately, with the audio issue resolving on air.

“Al, I appreciate it,” Bosworth added as the interview smoothly continued.

The segment was part of promotional appearances for The Reunion: Laguna Beach, a new special marking 20 years since the original MTV reality series ended.

Bosworth, who was pregnant during parts of the reunion filming and welcomed her daughter Nelle in January, explained she participated remotely for much of the project. She also shared that she missed the original 20-year reunion taping while undergoing IVF treatment.

Despite the personal challenges, she said she was determined not to miss the televised celebration.

Reflecting on her time on Laguna Beach, Bosworth spoke about her close bond with castmate Lauren Conrad, describing their friendship as central to their high school experience.

“At the TV celebration, everyone was nervous at first, but it ended up being a blast,” she said.

Conrad also appeared in the special, noting that while the show often portrayed conflict, real friendships behind the scenes were much deeper.

“Lo was my person,” Conrad said, highlighting their long-standing connection.

Bosworth also revisited how she first ended up on the reality series, recalling a chance encounter outside a school-adjacent office while she and Conrad were ditching class in matching Juicy Couture outfits.

“The car alarm goes off, and it just was fate, I suppose,” she said.

Furthermore, The Reunion: Laguna Beach is currently streaming on Roku.
