Cardi B launches Grow-Good beauty hair care: 'Join our hair journey'

Cardi B's innovative haircare line makes its debut on April 15, promising six distinct products aptly under the label: Grow-Good Beauty.

The launch follows a period of excitement stirred by the "Hello" rapper's online hints of its development, as revealed in an Instagram video announcing “Major hair. Major era. Coming soon”.

Essentially, this brand originated from long-standing fan interest in her personal haircare techniques.

“The turning point for starting my brand [happened] after I noticed people trying... the hair mask I've been using to enhance my hair's growth,” she reveals to PEOPLE in an exclusive discussion.

Many do-it-yourself enthusiasts replicated the method at home, while others urged the Grammy recipient to release it, inspiring her to venture into the beauty business.

“Everyone [was saying] how effective it was for them. I thought, ‘I need to make it officially mine since everyone keeps asking. Why not take this journey together?’”

Cardi is known for readily sharing her beauty insights. She openly discusses successful and unsuccessful attempts, like a homemade garlic-infused treatment that left her feeling like "a walking lasagna" when sweating. “I test things out so you don't have to.”

It has been almost nine years since "Bodak Yellow" thrust the rapper, whose birth name is Belcalis Almánzar, into the limelight.

With access to top-tier expertise, she merges her Dominican family’s traditional practices with modern scalp and hair innovations for Grow-Good.

Per a press statement, the Repair System features Fiberlace, a unique plant-based blend designed to strengthen hair fibers.

Using bond-supporting technologies, it aims to enhance hair structure and smooth the cuticle for greater shine. The vegan-friendly and cruelty-free lineup is “endorsed by Dominican hairstylists.”

The assortment includes two variations of the Wash Cycle and Wash Cycle+ shampoos ($14.99) and two types of Soft Serve and Soft Serve+ conditioners ($14.99). The "+" versions are enriched with more strengthening ingredients for intensified repair.

The standout mask, Get Rich ($19.99), blends avocado and coconut oils with aloe vera and banana extracts to revitalize neglected hair.

Lastly, the Everything Serum ($17.99) operates as a multipurpose product, protecting hair against heat and humidity, while adding shine and helping seal split ends.

The Bodega Baddie rapper meticulously approached every detail of the brand, from its name, chosen at the initial meeting, to the retro-inspired packaging—imagine a mask container reminiscent of a margarine tub, with dish soap-like dispensers for shampoos and conditioners, to the vibrant colours.

“I envisioned something vivid and lively,” she shares. “Green symbolizes strength. It signifies many products we use for hair care. Hair is like a plant that needs nourishment and care to flourish.”

Cardi knows the struggle of feeling dissatisfied with her own hair. That’s why, as a mom to daughters Kulture, 7, and Blossom, 1, son Wave, 4, along with a five-month-old son with Stefon Diggs, she ensures her children cherish their unique hair.
