Lady Gaga brought her monumental Mayhem Ball tour to a poignant conclusion this week, performing a final, sold-out show at Madison Square Garden in New York City.

The international run of performances ended with a display of surprise songs and sentimental messages, as the singer shared several tearful moments with her dedicated audience.

In a particularly moving segment, she offered a public tribute to her fiancé, Michael Polansky.

Addressing the capacity crowd, Gaga stated, "I hope you know how much we will all miss you," before she introduced her 2011 hit The Edge of Glory.

She added, "I'd like to sing this to you, New York, from my heart to yours." Following the track, the singer became visibly overwhelmed by a prolonged standing ovation.

"Did you have a good time tonight? You make me feel so happy. Thank you so much for being at this show. What a very special and momentous show," she told the crowd.

The evening also served as a celebration of her partnership with Polansky, who served as executive producer for both the album and the tour.

Dedicating the song Blade of Grass to him, Gaga said, "I would like to say a very big thank you to somebody who really made this show possible, and that's my fiancé, Michael. I love you so much."

She noted the difficulty of the farewell, admitting, "It's a very emotional show for all of us, to say goodbye to something that means so much to all of us."
