Snooki reveals emotional reaction from son Lorenzo after cancer diagnosis news
The 'Jersey Shore' star credits her family’s support during her cervical cancer battle
Nicole Polizzi has shared an emotional account of how her children reacted after she told them about her stage 1 cervical cancer diagnosis, revealing that her eldest son initially feared the worst.
Speaking with E! News at the Jersey Shore: Family Vacation final season premiere, the 38-year-old reality star said she explained to her three children, Lorenzo, 13, Giovanna, 11, and Angelo, 6, that she would undergo surgery following her diagnosis.
However, Polizzi recalled that her son Lorenzo became visibly distressed and asked whether she was “going to heaven” or “dying,” reflecting the emotional weight of the conversation for the family.
She added that her children also processed the news in their own way, with Lorenzo even jokingly asking if she would “leave him something,” before ultimately understanding that she needed surgery to recover.
Polizzi emphasized that despite the initial fear, her children have since come to terms with the situation and are focused on her recovery and well-being.
The Jersey Shore star shares her three children with husband Jionni LaValle, whom she married in 2014.
Polizzi first revealed her diagnosis earlier this month, explaining that she underwent testing after a routine checkup led to further medical evaluation.
She later confirmed that her cancer had not spread and that she would require a hysterectomy, after which no further treatment is expected.
She previously described experiencing intense emotional distress upon receiving the diagnosis, saying she initially feared the worst before learning her condition was treatable.
Since then, Polizzi has said she has been supported by her husband, family, and friends, who have rallied around her during what she described as a frightening but manageable health battle.
