Netflix reveals new title and plot details for 'One Piece' season 3
Season 3 is expected to be released in late 2027 or early 2028
One Piece has officially revealed the title for its upcoming third season, confirming a major storyline shift as production continues on the highly anticipated installment.
According to reports, Season 3 will be titled One Piece: The Battle of Alabasta, signaling a direct adaptation of one of the most significant arcs from the original manga and anime source material.
The new season will center on a rebellion threatening to tear apart the desert kingdom of Alabasta, with political unrest secretly fueled by Sir Crocodile, one of the Seven Warlords of the Sea, and his criminal organization Baroque Works.
The official synopsis describes a high-stakes conflict in which the Straw Hat Pirates become entangled in a brewing civil war while trying to protect Princess Vivi’s kingdom from collapse.
The storyline also teases emotional themes of loyalty, sacrifice and “unbreakable bonds,” as the crew faces powerful enemies and difficult choices in their mission to restore peace.
Production for Season 3 reportedly began in December 2025 in Cape Town, South Africa, continuing the global filming approach used in earlier seasons.
The cast is expected to return with Iñaki Godoy reprising his role as Monkey D. Luffy, alongside returning crew members portraying key members of the Straw Hat Pirates.
While no exact release date has been confirmed, Season 3 is expected to arrive on Netflix in late 2027 or early 2028.
Both Season 1 and Season 2 of the live-action adaptation are currently available for streaming on Netflix.
