Justin Bieber scores surprise Billboard No. 1 with Nicki Minaj collab ‘Beauty and a Beat’
This follows Bieber’s widely discussed appearances at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival
Justin Bieber and Nicki Minaj are celebrating an unexpected chart revival as their 2012 smash hit Beauty and a Beat has climbed to No. 1 on Billboard’s Global Excl. US chart, marking one of the biggest nostalgia-driven music comebacks of the year.
The dance-pop anthem jumped two spots to claim the summit after recording a massive 93% increase in international streams, pulling in 65.4 million plays outside the United States between April 17 and April 23, according to Luminate data.
The renewed momentum follows Bieber’s widely discussed appearances at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival earlier this month, where he performed several fan-favourite classics.
Clips from his throwback set quickly went viral online, triggering a wave of streaming activity as longtime listeners revisited his early catalog.
Fans across social media described the resurgence as a full-blown “Bieber revival,” with many calling Beauty and a Beat one of the standout moments of his Coachella return.
Reddit users also pointed to the performance as the spark behind the song’s sudden streaming explosion.
The latest achievement gives Bieber his third Billboard Global Excl. US No. 1, while Minaj earns her first leader on the chart.
The song has also become only the second non-holiday track to top the ranking more than a decade after its original release, underscoring the enduring global appeal of the Bieber-Minaj collaboration.
